GREENVILLE, Pa. –
Elizabeth Moir won at four singles and teamed with
Sandy Rodeheaver (Pittsburgh, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) at three doubles in the Tomcats' 5-4 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over visiting Bethany College Thursday afternoon.
The win marked the first PAC victory for the Thiel women's tennis team since September 14, 1999, when they defeated then Waynesburg College 6-3.
Moir picked up her third win of the season with her 6-3, 6-0 victory over Amber Ridings. The duo of Moir and Rodeheaver improved to 2-3 with their 8-4 win over Jordan Jones and Deanna Gamble.
Rodeheaver was also a double winner for the Tomcats, posting 6-0 win over Jordan Jones at five singles.
Thiel (2-4, 1-1) is scheduled to return to action at home on Saturday, September 15, against PAC rival Thomas More College (3 p.m.)
