GREENVILLE, Pa. — The Lycoming College Warriors won five of the first six matches Wednesday en route to a 19-14 win over the Thiel College Tomcats in an early season dual match at Beeghly Gymnasium.
Nick Sutton (Butler, Pa./Butler), Jerrold Roosa (Randolph, N.Y./Randolph Central), Jake Lowry and Blake Heim (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds) all won their bouts for the Tomcats in a losing effort.
Lowry may have had the most impressive win for either team in the match with a technical fall (19-4) victory over Nik Christine. The win improves Lowry's record to 5-0 this season.
Sutton briefly tied the team score at 3-3, as he won by decision, 9-2, over Zach Finn at 133 pounds.
Roosa controlled the tempo the entire match against Jonathan Secor in a 9-3 win. He was the aggressor from start to finish and dominated in the neutral position.
Heim improved to 4-1 in his freshman campaign with a 5-3 overtime win against Max Lampert.
Thiel will take part in the Washington and Jefferson Open Saturday, which will feature all three members of the PAC, amongst others. Wrestling gets underway at 9 a.m.
