GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team suffered an 89-66 non-conference loss Saturday to the Carnegie Mellon Tartans.
Kelly Barzak (Warren, OH/Howland) and
Riian McCray (Dayton, Ohio/Trotwood-Madison) paced the Tomcats with 17 and 16 points, respectively. Barzak also added six rebounds, three blocks and two steals while McCray led Thiel with a game-high 10 rebounds. McCray also tallied five assists, three steals and two blocks.
Also for Thiel,
Kelly Muffley (Salsburg, Pa./Western Reserve Academy) and
Jaclyn Watkins (Aliquippa, Pa./Aliquippa) contributed 11 points apiece.
Amanda McHenry scored a game-high 21 points for Carnegie Mellon while Emily Peel scored 19 points.
Thiel (1-3) will host Hiram College Sunday. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
