GREENVILLE, Pa. (Oct. 6) – The Thiel College women's tennis squad was handed a 6-3 non-conference loss by Medaille College on Saturday afternoon.
Thiel (2-12) picked up one doubles win as the pair
Shay Kashey (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) and
Lauren Mittner (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) posted an 8-0 win over Sarah Block and Lauren Haskins.
The Tomcats took the first two singles matches to take a 3-2 lead, with Kashey picking up a 6-0, 6-3 win over Block at first singles and Mittner winning 6-0, 6-0 over Haskins at second singles. However, the Mavericks recovered and won the next four singles matches, including winning by forfeit at number six.
Thiel returns to action tomorrow at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Chatham College. The match is scheduled to get underway at 3:30 p.m.
