Tim Loomis and the Thiel men's basketball squad saw 10 players score in Saturday's 98-61 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over visiting Westminster College.
Blair Rozenblad (Youngstown, Ohio/Kennedy Catholic) secured his eighth double-double of the year, scoring a game-high 19 points to go along with a game-best 11 rebounds.
Kamran McKaskill had the best performance of his rookie season against the Titans, finishing with 16 points, three assists, and a pair of rebounds while
Devon Adams (Philadelphia, Pa./George Junior Republic) tallied 15 points, eight assists, and four rebounds.
AJ Forbes totaled 11 points, five assists, and two rebounds and
Anthony Harvey (New Castle, Pa./New Castle) chipped in with 11 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
Doran Phillips (Cleveland, Ohio/Garfield Heights) registered a career-best 10 points in the 37-point victory.
Thiel (14-4, 11-0) shot 61.8 percent from the floor in Saturday's lopsided win, marking the second time this season they have shot over 60 percent against the Titans (63.3% at Westminster, 12-7-11). The plus-17 (42-25) rebounding margin is their sixth double-digit margin of the season. The Tomcats also finished with a commanding 70-16 advantage in points in paint and a 38-19 margin in bench points.
Doug Smith led Westminster (4-15, 3-8) with 15 points. Ron Martino and Ben Donlow each added eight. The Tomcats limited the Titans to just 35.7 percent shooting (20-56) from the floor.
The Tomcats, after heading into the break with 49-28 lead, came out shooting in the second as they outscored the Titans 16-9 over the opening 4:01 to assume a 65-37 lead. A host of Tomcats were able to lend a hand down the stretch to push Thiel to its largest margin of victory of the season.
Thiel returns to PAC action on Wednesday, Feb.1 when it travels to Saint Vincent College for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
