Hermitage, Pa. – The women's soccer team celebrated the 2011 Homecoming weekend by defeating the Salem International Tigers 4-0. Saturday's game was played at Hickory High School's Hornet Stadium.
 
Thiel would get on the board early with unassisted goals from Taryn Benner (Alliance, Ohio/Marlington ) (4:27) and Karen Wolfe (Troy, Pa./Troy Senior) (5:36), securing a 2-0 lead just six minutes into the contest. Alliana Hardgrove (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) would increase Thiel's lead to 3-0 off an assist from Alison Skebo (Hubbard, Ohio/Hubbard) in the 12th minute. Katie Bretz (New Middletown, Ohio/Springfield Local) would score the final goal of the contest in the 42nd minute of action. Bretz now leads the team in goals (3) and is tied for second in points (6).
 
The Tomcats (4-4-2) will travel to Cleveland  on Wednesday, September 28 to face off against Ursiline College. The match is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
