WASHINGTON, Pa. – The women's tennis team fell in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play to the Presidents of Washington & Jefferson College by a score of 7-2 Saturday afternoon in Washington, Pa.
Through doubles play the Presidents held a 2-1 advantage as they took number one and number two doubles. At number three doubles, however, the Tomcats picked up the victory as
Katey Williams (Shelocta, Pa./Elderton) and
Amy Nacey (Delmont, Pa./Greensburg-Salem) posted an 8-3 win.
The Tomcats then fell 5-1 in singles action and W&J picked up the 7-2 overall victory, dropping the Tomcats to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in conference action. Nacey became a double-winner on the day as she also posted the Tomcats' lone singles victory winning at number six singles 6-0, 6-2.
Thiel returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 20 when they host SUNY-Fredonia. First serve is scheduled 3 p.m.
