GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Tomcat women's soccer team played to their second straight draw and extended their unbeaten streak to five games as they finished with a 1-1 tie against visiting D'Youville College on Saturday.
It didn't take long for the Tomcats to get on the board as
Alison House (Youngstown, Ohio/Liberty) connected with the back of net in just the third minute of play to give Thiel a 1-0 advantage. The Spartans came right back as Kayla Hartnett beat goalkeeper
Angela Balint (Sharpsville, Pa./Kennedy Catholic) just three minutes later to tie the game at one apiece. The goal was the first given up by the Tomcats in 385 minutes of play, including a double overtime 0-0 draw with La Roche.
For the rest of the game, including two overtimes, neither team could notch the go ahead goal as the Tomcats earned their second tie in as many games to move to 3-2-2 on the season.
Thiel will be back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 20 as they travel to Hiram, Ohio to take on the Hiram College Terriers. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
