Late Goal Dooms Women's Soccer

GREENVILLE, Pa. — The Thiel College women's soccer team was defeated by a score of 2-1 by the Titans of Westminster on Wednesday in Greenville.
 
Thiel notched the first goal of the contest just 44 seconds into regulation as Nicole Jeschelnig (Madison, Ohio/Madison) found the back of the net to give Thiel the 1-0 lead which they would take into the half.
 
In the second half of play, Westminster dominated the pace and was able to score the equalizing goal just three minutes into the second frame when Amanda Turi found the net off a pass from Tyler Denver to notch the game at 1-1. The game would remain at 1-1 until the 89th minute of play when Shanay Phillian scored the go ahead goal for the Titans to take the game 2-1 and hand Thiel their fourth one-goal loss of the season.
 
The women's team will conclude their season on Saturday October 29 as they take on the Golden Tornadoes of Geneva College. The game is scheduled for a 12 p.m. start time.
