ALTOONA, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis squad was handed a 5-4 loss Sunday afternoon at Penn State Altoona.

Thiel (1-14) picked up one doubles win as the pair of Rachael LaBar (Bangor, Pa./Bangor) and Shay Kashey (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) posted an 8-3 win over Alexis Orr and Katelyn Piper.

The Tomcats and Lady Lions (4-6) split the six singles matches, with LaBar picking up a 6-1, 6-0 win over Orr at first singles, Kashey winning 6-0, 4-6, 6-4 over Piper at second singles, and Amy Nacey (Delmont, Pa./Greensburg-Salem) defeating Kelsey Pfeiffenberger 6-4, 6-1 at sixth singles.

Thiel returns to action on Thursday, October 13 at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Bethany College. The match is scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m.
