CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. — The Tomcat women's tennis program dropped a pair of matches on Saturday in a tri-match with Thomas More College and Berea College in Crestview Hills, Kentucky. Thiel lost the first match to Thomas More 9-0 and the second to Berea 5-4.
 
In the first contest of the day, the Tomcats fell 9-0 to PAC foe Thomas More which dropped the Tomcats to 0-9 in the conference this season.

In the second match of the day, the Tomcats fell 5-4 to Berea College.  The Tomcats trailed 2-1 following doubles action as Brianna Tiedeman (Jarrettsville, Md./North Harford) and Tyler Fleming (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) pick up a win in number three doubles 9-8 (7-4 tiebreak). Three Tomcats took victories in singles play as Shay Kashey (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) won at number two (6-2, 4-6, 10-3); Tiedeman won at number five (6-0, 6-3); and Elizabeth Moir took the victory at number six (6-0, 6-0).
 
The victory by Moir was the first 6-0, 6-0 sweep by a Tomcat this season. However, despite the three victories in singles play, Thiel split the singles 3-3 and still fell by one point 5-4.
 
The Tomcats will next be in action on Monday when they travel to LaRoche College to take on the Redhawks. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
