Greenville, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team suffered a 5-4 dual-match loss to visiting Pitt-Greensburg Tuesday afternoon in Greenville.

The Tomcats (0-4) emerged from singles action tied at 3-3 with the Bobcats (1-2) as sophomore Katey Williams (Shelocta, Pa., Elderton) earned a 6-2, 6-1 win over Stephanie Chaffee, senior Marcy Lee (Mckeesport, Pa., South Allegheny) picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Sam Soltysiak at fifth singles and sophomore Amanda Toy ( Shelocta, Pa., Elderton) earned a 6-4, 6-1 win over Maura Znavor at sixth singles.

Williams and junior Amy Nacey (Delmont, Pa., Greensburg-Salem) downed Chaffee and Katie Izzo 8-3 in first doubles before the Tomcats dropped both second and third doubles matches to lose 5-4.

The women's tennis squad returns to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action when they travel to Waynesburg University for a dual match scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 3 p.m.
