GREENVILLE, PA. -- The Thiel College women's soccer team (1-0) suffered a loss in their home opener at the hands of Mount Aloysius College (2-0) by a score of 2-1 on September 1 at Alumni Stadium in Greenville, Pa.

The Mounties were able to get on the board first with a goal off the foot of Pamela Pride on an assist from Brittany Weidenhammer with nine minutes left to go in the first half to take a 1-0 lead heading into the locker room.

The second half saw a quick score from the Tomcats as Amber Schultis (Pittsburgh, Pa., Baldwin) was able to put in a goal off of a pass from Kelsey Adair (Ephrata, Pa., Ephrata Senior ) to tie the game at 1-1 with only two minutes gone in the half. The Mounties saw a quick retaliation as Weidenhammer was able to get her first goal of the season and second point of the night just seven minutes later to give Mount Aloysius a 2-1 lead. Thiel was not able to mount a comeback as Mount Aloysius held on for the 2-1 victory.

The women's soccer team's next game will be Sunday September, 5 at 1 p.m. when they host Juniata College.
