Crestview Hills, KY (February 23, 2010) -- The Thiel College women's basketball team lost in the quarterfinals of the PAC Championships on Tuesday, 75-51, to the Thomas More College Saints.
The Tomcats got off to a slow start in the first half, with the Saints jumping out to a 24-2 lead over the first seven minutes of play. Thomas More's hot start can be attributed to senior center, Nicole Dickman, scoring 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting during the run.
While the Tomcat women fought valiantly in the second half, they couldn't manage to put a dent in the Thomas More lead.
Kelly Barzak (Warren, OH/Howland) led the way for Thiel, scoring 11 points, while accumulating eight rebounds and three blocked shots. Ashley Davis (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel) chipped in 14 points, while Kelly Muffley (Salsburg, Pa./Western Reserve Academy) scored 10.
Thiel finished with an overall record of 6-19 and 2-12 in the PAC. With the women's basketball season coming to an end, next year is looking to be one of promise with every player on the roster returning.
