GREENVILLE, Pa. — Thiel's women's soccer team closed out its season Thursday with a 1-0 loss to visiting Waynesburg in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match.
Danielle Danhires scored the winning goal for the Yellow Jackets (10-6-3, 3-4-1) in the 23rd minute. The goal was unassisted.
Jill Harry (Aliquippa, Pa., Hopewell) finished her great college career as a Tomcat with eight saves. Harry was a four-year starter and has been named a first, second and honorable mention All-PAC selection. She concludes her career as Thiel's all-time saves leader with 731.
Also playing their last game for the Tomcats were
Stephanie Yeo (Valencia, Pa., Mars) and
Victoria Woodward (Buxton, Maine, Greater Portland Christian). Yeo, an honorable mention on the All-PAC squad last season, finished the season with one goal and one assist. Woodward was a two-year captain and started all four years.
The Tomcats end the season with an overall record of 2-17 and were 0-8 in the conference. Eight of their losses came by just one goal.
