PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Thiel struck first with a quick goal but was unable to score again in a 3-1 loss to Chatham in a Presidents' Athletic Conference women's soccer match Saturday.

Kayce Grimm (Petrolia, Pa., Karns City) scored the first goal of her career just 1:17 into the game to give her team a 1-0 lead. The goal came on Thiel's first shot of the match and was unassisted.
The Cougars took over from that point despite being outshot 28-8, including a 12-7 Thiel advantage in shots on goal.
Lindsey Matusak and Emily Peduto found the back of the net for the Cougars in the first half while Ashley Kostial tacked on another goal with a penalty shot in the second half.
Thiel (2-9, 0-1) will travel to play Geneva on Wednesday, That match is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start.
