GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Thiel College women's soccer team was defeated by a score of 6-0 by Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Grove City on Wednesday in Grove City.
The Wolverines were able to jump on Thiel early as they scored three first-half goals. The first goal was netted by Emily Hurley off of a pass from Michelle Stevens in the 24th minute to make the lead 1-0. Sam Weber and Sarah Cessar both scored their first goals of the season just nine minutes apart (Weber in the 34th minute and Cessar in the 43rd minute), and the Wolverines took a 3-0 lead into the half.
The second half saw more of the same for Thiel (2-12; 0-3 PAC) as Grove City was able to net three more goals in the second half, handing Thiel its largest defeat of the season.
The Tomcats will be in action once again on Sunday October 17 when they play Thomas More College. The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Greenville.
