Greenville, Pa. (January 09, 2010) -- A
Kelly Barzak (Warren, OH/Howland) three at the end of regulation propelled the Thiel College women's basketball team to overtime and the eventual, 66-59, victory over the Grove City College Wolverines Saturday.
The Tomcats held a lead through the first 35 minutes of the contest but could never put the visiting Wolverines out of striking distance. And strike Grove City did, as the pushed past the women of Thiel with little more than five minutes to go in the contest.

Ashley Davis (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel), brought the 'Cats within three, with less than 25 seconds on the clock, sophomore guard,
Rianne Thornton (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood-Madison), forced a charge giving Thiel possession with only 17.7 second remaining.
Thornton received the inbound pass and drove to the lane off a pick set by Barzak. With the defense closing in, Thornton hits freshman guard,
Chelsea Meister (Liberty Center, Ohio/Liberty Center ), with a pass, who subsequently spots and dishes to Barzak who is open a the top of the arc. The next thing the ball touches after hitting Barzak's hands would be the bottom of the net, as the freshman center drains the game tying three.

Barzack led all scorers with a game-high 19 points, seven rebounds, five blocks and three steals, while Davis tallied 14 points and seven boards. Meister contributed 12 points and on 5-of-7 shooting from the field.
