GREENVILLE, Pa. (Jan. 23, 2010) – Freshman Blair Rozenblad (Youngstown, Ohio/Kennedy Catholic) scored a game-high 25 points and pulled down 10 rebounds Saturday afternoon as Thiel College eased past Saint Vincent, 70-52, in men's basketball action.
The win upped Thiel's record to 8-9 on the season – including a 4-1 mark at Beeghly Gymnasium. Saint Vincent, on the other hand, dropped to 5-13 as the Tomcats completed their season sweep of the visiting Bearcats.
Thiel was slow to start in the contest, spotting Saint Vincent an early four-point lead but battled back to grab an, 30-22, advantage by halftime.
The Tomcats started the second half with an 8-to-2 run and led by as many as 26 points with less than five minutes to go in the game. Thiel out-rebounded the Bearcats to the tune of, 44-24, including 17 on the offensive glass which led to 23 second-chance points.
In addition to Rozenblad, junior Devon Adams (Philadelphia, Pa./George Junior Republic) also had a solid outing on offense, tossing in 17 points and dishing out four assists.
BJ McGill paced Saint Vincent with 18 points.
Thiel returns to action on Wednesday when they host Geneva.
