Alfred, NY (September 5, 2009) -- The Thiel College women' s soccer team came away with a 0-0 stalemate against the Alfred Saxons on Saturday but, they won the ensuing shootout, 5-4, to advance to the finals.

While the Tomcat offense struggled for the second straight game, perennial all-PAC goalkeeper, Jill Harry (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell), posted her first shutout of the season.  The Aliquippa, Pa. native tallied four saves, bringing her tournament total to 23.

The Tomcats will return to action Sunday, September 6 for a 7 p.m. match up against the winner of the Hilbert-Cazenovia game.
