BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Sept. 1, 2009) – The Thiel College men's cross country team won a tight, 26-29, dual meet at Geneva to open their season Tuesday afternoon, while the Tomcat women fell to the Golden Tornadoes, 17-42.
Thiel newcomer
Regis Wagner (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) recorded the meet's fastest finish, closing the five kilometer course in a blistering 17:50.
Alex Bent (Oak Hill, VA/Westfield) came in third with a time of 18:15, while
Brendan DuLaney (New Windsor, Md./Westminster) (6th/18:33),
Richard Peterson (Cochranton, Pa./Meadville) (7th/19:16), and
Ben Moran (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) (9th/19:34) rounded out the Thiel scorers.
The women were paced by
Tiffany Blosser (Fairchance/Albert Gallatin), who compiled a fourth-place time of 24:17.
Thiel returns to action on Saturday when they take part in the Westminster College Invitational.
