Home Woes Continue For Women

Greenville, Pa. (February 4, 2009) -- The Tomcat women can't seem to shake their issues at home, losing their seventh of nine home games, 61-65, to the visiting Bethany Bison on Wednesday

Thiel's downfall came on the boards as the Bison outrebounded them 48-37.  With each loose ball seeming to go Bethany's way, the Tomcat's scoring opportunities began to dwindle.  And, when they did get possession, the couldn't quite capitalize as Bethany's defense held the Tomcat's shooting percentage just under 34 percent.  Over the last five minutes of the second half, Thiel was outscored 11-5, sealing their fate.

Amber Bodrick (Youngstown, OH/Cardinal Mooney) led all scorers with 25, while grabbing nine rebounds, dealing out four assists and tallying four steals.  Ashley Davis (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel) and Kim Stitt (Hermitage, PA/Hickory) each contributed 14 points, while grabbing nine and six boards respectively.

With just five regular season games remaining Thiel will be looking to right the ship and finish with their first winning record since the 2001-2002 season.
