Bodrick and 'Cats Show No Love to the Titans

GREENVILLE, Pa. (February 14, 2009) -- The women of Thiel began to show some life on Saturday, ending their five game skid with an 86-60 dismantling of the Westminster College Titans.

The 'Cats jumped out to a feverish pace outscoring the Titans 21-6 over the first eight minutes of the first half, led by senior swing, Amber Bodrick (Youngstown, OH/Cardinal Mooney), who tallied 13 points over the duration of the run.  Westminster seemed to have no answer for the Youngstown, Ohio native, as she poured in 21 before the halftime buzzer went off.

The second half proved to be no different for the visiting Titans, as a the rest of the Tomcats began to show their claws, outscoring Westminster 23-8 to close out the game.

Bodrick finished the game with a season- and game-high 32 points, to go along with 10 rebounds, four assist, two steals and two blocked shots.  Freshman forward, Ashley Davis (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Peter Chanel), did her best Ray Allen impression dropping 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting while,  freshman duo, Towanda-Michelle Warren (Solon, OH/Solon) and Rianne Thornton (Trotwood, Ohio/Trotwood-Madison), held things down on defense end, finishing the game with four and five steals respectively.

The Tomcats forced a total of 25 turnovers while only giving up six of their own, while out-rebounding the Titans 37-32.
