PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Nov. 20, 2009) – An untimely turnover followed by two made La Roche College free throws doomed the Thiel College men's basketball team Friday night, as they fell to the Red Hawks, 78-73, in the opening round of the Cron's Classic at Kerr Fitness Center in Pittsburgh.
Thiel (0-2) had four players score in double figures and was led once again by freshman guard Blair Rozenblad (Youngstown, Ohio/Kennedy Catholic) who tossed in a game-high 22 points.
Freshman Ladell Trotty (Cleveland, Ohio/Lutheran East) came off the bench to score 11, while Brad Stevenson (Cleveland, Ohio/Lutheran East) and Devon Adams (Philadelphia, Pa./George Junior Republic) each notched 10 points.
The Tomcats easily won the battle underneath, out-rebounding La Roche, 35-20, but committed 21 turnovers to the Red Hawks' nine to swing the game.
Trotty led Thiel with eight rebounds.
Thiel returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 21 for the final day of the Cron's Classic.
