(CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky.) – Thomas More scored the game-winning goal in overtime as the 25th-ranked Saints defeated Thiel College, 1-0, in a Presidents' Athletic Conference women's soccer match at The Bank of Kentucky Field.
With the win the Saints improve to 12-0 overall and 3-0 in the PAC and with the loss the Tomcats fall to 2-9-2 overall and 0-3 in the PAC.
The two teams played to a scoreless 0-0 tie after the first 90 minutes. Then 2:11 into overtime Thomas More's Lauren Wietmarschen had a break-away and shot the ball from 10 yards out and the ball found the back of the net for the game-winning goal.
The loss spoiled an outstanding outing by junior goalkeeper
Jill Harry (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell). Harry played all 92:11 minutes and made 19 saves.
The Saints outshot the Tomcats 44-0.
Thiel returns to action on Saturday when the host PAC-rival Bethany at 1 p.m.
