WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College wrestling team got off to a strong start, but fell into its season-long pattern off fading late, as Waynesburg grappled its way to a, 22-15, Presidents' Athletic Conference win.
Rob Miller (Transfer, Pa./Reynolds) kicked off the match with a pin of Rico Borz at 125.
Corey Brown (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds) – who earned a 7-6 decision over Nick Garber at 133 – and
Mason Stewart (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds) followed suit in 9-8 fashion at 141.
Waynesburg snapped the Thiel streak at 149, but 157lber
Greg Hogan (Uniontown/Laurel Highlands) got the Tomcats back on the winning track, albeit temporarily, with an 8-4 win. The host Yellow Jackets reeled off five straight wins to cinch the comeback win.
Thiel returns to action on Saturday when they host the Mel Berry Duals, which get underway at 1 p.m.
