WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Thiel wrestling team won their only match on the second day of the Lycoming College-Budd Whitehill Duals, downing Case Western Reserve University, 30-19.
After a forfeit win by Rob Miller (Transfer, Pa./Reynolds), Corey Brown (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds) pinned Case Western's Tim Sykes in 52 seconds.
Alec Miller (Transfer, Pa./Grove City) finished the tournament with a perfect 4-0 mark by earning a, 3-2, decision over Case's Jamie Vaughn in the 149lbs match. Sean Ferguson (3-1), Pat Morris (pin, 3:10), and Kraig Smith (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) (forfeit) also won their matches in the winning effort.
Thiel returns to action on Jan. 18 when it visits Mount Union College for a dual match. The Tomcats downed the Purple Raiders, 23-18, in Greenville on Nov. 19.
