ERIE, Pa. (Sept. 27, 2008) – The Thiel College men's and women's cross country teams competed Saturday at the Mercyhurst Invitational on Saturday. The men earned a second-place finish out of a three-team field, which also included Gannon University, while the women came in third.
In the men's race, sophomore Alex Bent (Oakhill, Va./Westfield) (Oak Hill, Va./Westfield) paced the Tomcats with a time of 29:09, while freshman Tiffany Blosser (Fairchance, Pa./Albert Gallatin) led Thiel finishers in the women's race with a time of 25:53.
“I thought we competed well against some quality D-II teams today,” said head coach Kevin Pool. “That is particularly true of the men's team, since Gannon beat us twice this year before today.”
Thiel returns to action on Oct. 4 when they participate in the Pitt-Greensburg Invitational.
