GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Marietta College Pioneers erased a two-point halftime deficit to down the Thiel Tomcats, 48-47, in women's basketball action Tuesday night at Beeghly Gymnasium.
With the loss, Thiel fell to 1-1 on the young season.

Amber Bodrick (Boardman, Ohio/Cardinal Mooney) (Youngstown, Ohio/Cardinal Mooney) and senior
Catie Sieber (Glenshaw, Pa./North Hills) (Glenshaw, Pa/North Hills) each scored 12 points to lead the 'Cats. Bodrick also pulled down 15 rebounds to notch her first double-double of the season.
Nikki Driscoll led the Pioneers with 11 points.
Thiel twice established eight-point advantages in the second half, but each time the Pioneers battled back, eventually taking the lead for good with just over a minute left in the game on a Amanda Carraher three-pointer.
A last second Bodrick drive to the hoop, ended as time expired.
On the evening, Thiel held a noticeable statistical advantage in most categories including blocks (9-3) and rebounds (40-27).
The Tomcats return to action on Friday when they participate in a tournament at Bluffton College.
