FULL RESULTS

WEST CHESTER, Ohio
-- The Thiel College men's cross country team finished second overall at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Meet Saturday morning at Voice of America Park in West Chester, Ohio, while the women placed sixth.

The men were led by freshman, Richard Peterson (Cochranton, Pa./Meadville) who placed third overall and Alex Bent (Oakhill, Va./Westfield) who finished the day eleventh. Bryan Montozzi (Stoneboro, Pa./Lakeview), Ben Moran (Bradford, Pa./Bradford) and Sam Slaven (Lowellville, Ohio/Lowellville) all put in strong efforts by finishing in the top 20.

The second-place finish was Thiel's highest since 1998.  It was also the men's eighth second place finish all-time.

Tiffany Blosser (Fairchance/Albert Gallatin) was the women's top performer after she finished the day in 12th place, individually.

"I think it was an historic day for the program," said head coach Kevin Pool.  "The men equaled the highest finish in school history in almost 50 years of PAC competition. Richard Peterson (Cochranton, Pa./Meadville) earned first-team All-PAC, and Alex Bent (Oakhill, Va./Westfield) earned second team."

"We also had thee runners finish just off the all-conference team. This year marked the first women's team to represent the school since 2005, and they performed well. Tiffany Blosser (Fairchance/Albert Gallatin) earned 2nd team All-PAC honors, which is outstanding for a freshman."

Thiel will participate in the NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championships to be held on Nov. 15 in Waynesburg, Pa.
