Calvin Cackowski hit .667 (10-for-15) en route to extending his career-best hitting streak to 11 games as Thiel went 2-2 with splits against Franciscan and Geneva last week. Cackowski totaled eight RBIs, scored seven times and hit three home runs to push his PAC-leading total to eight on the year. In game one against Franciscan, Cackowski raked a two-run homer and scored three times. In the nightcap with the Barons he added two more hits, one of which was a double, and scored once. In the opener with Geneva, he went 3-for-5 with a homer, four RBIs and two runs as Thiel plated six in the ninth to erase a five-run deficit and score an 18-17 win. Cackowski finished the day with a 3-for-4 game-two showing along with another two-run homer.Â
