R.J. Malson set a new school record in the shot put Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Jim Wuske Invitational with a lifetime-best throw of 47 feet, eight inches … Malson’s record-breaking toss, which was good enough for seventh place, surpassed Andy Apisa’s record of 46 feet, 11.5 inches, which stood since 1999. Malson also recorded a lifetime-best (36 feet, 8.5 inches) in the weight throw Saturday, which put him in 24^th place.
