Mary Cassano is in her first season as a Volunteer Assistant Coach on the Women's Lacrosse team.
Cassano was a four-year member and three-year starter on the Thiel Women's Lacrosse team. She was an All-PAC First Team pick in 2024 and garnered Second-Team laurels in 2023. She corralled 117 ground balls, caused 69 turnovers, scored 18 goals and had 13 draw controls in her Thiel career.
Cassano graduated Summa Cum Laude from Thiel in 2024 with a Bachelor's of Science in chemistry along with a fine arts minor. She was an eight-semester Dean's List honoree, won the Vira I. Heinz Scholarship and founded the STEAM Room in Langenheim Memorial Library. Cassano was a member of Kappa Mu Epsilon as well as the Dietrich Honors Institute.Â
She graduated from McDowell High School in Erie, Pa., and is currently employed at Jamestown Coating Technologies as a formulation chemist.Â
