Biography

Dorran Coley begins his senior campaign in search of his second Indoor All-America honor, and a fourth straight outdoor All-America honor.  Coley now holds five Men's Indoor Track records at Thiel College.  During his freshmen year at Thiel College, Coley was recognized by Sports Illustrated for winning all four of his events at the Marion Invitational.  He placed first in the 400 meter int. hurdles, 110 high meter hurdles, and was part of the Tomcats 4x 100 and 4x400 meter relay teams.  Coley had an impressive rookie showing at PAC'S with a first place finish in the 110 meter high hurdles (15.67) and a duplicate finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of (55.38), earning him the Men's MVP.  During the indoor season, Coley managed to help break the Thiel College indoor record for the 4x160 meter relay (1:13.30) and shattered the Men's Outdoor record in the 110 meter high hurdles with a career best time of (14.16). At  the NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Coley finished fifth in the 110 meter high hurdles (14.32).  To cap of his freshman season, Dorran Coley was named an Outdoor All-American in 2006.

Coley's sophomore year brought yet another impressive slate of  honors.  He broke Thiel College's Indoor record for the 55 meter high hurdles (7.55) and helped the 4x200 meter relay break the previous record.  At the 2007 PAC'S Coley was the named the Men's MVP for the second straight year.  Coley won the 110 meter high hurdles and set a new PAC record with a time of 14.75.  He was also a member of the winning 4x100 meter relay squad (42.77) and finished in  second place in both the 100 meter dash (11.34) and long jump (21-6.75)  At the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Champsionships, Coley placed second with a time of 14.83.  He improved his finish by three spots from his 2006 fifth place finish at Nationals.  Coley earned his second consecutive All-America honor in outdoor track.

Coley brought his game to a whole new level with his Junior showing.  He broke 5 Men's Indoor & Outdoor records at Thiel College.  During the Indoor season Coley broke the 60 meter high hurdles record with a time of 8.12.  He then helped the 4x400 meter relay shine with a time of 3:21.03.  For the first time in his career, Coley earned himself an Indoor All-America honor.  As the Outdoor season began, Coley put on a showing at every meet.  When the season was finished, he had earned himself Thiel records in the 400-meter int. hurdles (54.30), 4x100 meter relay (41.83), and the 4x400 meter relay (3:17.58).  At the PAC's Coley posted his third straight conference championship in the 110-meter high hurdles.  He also won the 100- meter dash (10.96), the 400-meter intermediate hurdles (54.30) and the long jump (23-1.25). He also helped the 4x100 team win with a time of 42.01.  At the NCAA Divsion III Outdoor Track & Field Championship, Coley finished third in the 110 meter high hurdles with a time of 14.39.  This was the third time in as many years that Coley has achieved outdoor All-American status.
