Amber Kimmel was named the head cheer & dance coach at Thiel College in February of 2016 and now enters her third year as head coach.
Kimmel served as a volunteer assistant cheerleading coach at Clarion University since the spring of 2013. She assisted with practices, stunts, tryouts and game day management. She also completed a post-graduate internship for Clarion University’s athletic department in the spring of 2012.
Prior to her experience at Clarion University, Kimmel served two stints as an assistant cheerleading coach for the Clarion Area School District from 2008-09 and 2014-15. Kimmel was the head cheerleading coach for Clarion-Limestone School District from 2011-13.
Kimmel was a camp manager for the National Cheerleaders Association in Garland, Texas, from March 2009 through January 2013. She is certified through the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches & Administrators and has certification from Shockwave, IndoRow and Zumba.
Kimmel earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies with a minor in speech communication from Clarion University in 2011. She attained a master’s degree in communications with a concentration in conflict management and leadership communication from Edinboro University in 2013. In 2017, Kimmel became a certified Health Coach through the American Council on Exercise.
