GREENVILLE, Pa. – Thiel College cheer head coach
Randall Burnett M.A.'22 recently announced the hiring of
Bryce Barlow as the program's assistant coach.
Barlow earned a bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a minor in social work from Lamar University. He was a five-year member of the Lamar cheer team and served as captain in 2023-24.
A nine-semester Dean's List student, Barlow held multiple leadership positions, including president of Lamar's chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity.
Barlow has been a staff member for the National Cheerleading Association (NCA) since 2020. He was also a student operations assistant at Lamar University.
Barlow helped the Tomcats take first place and earn their fourth straight bid to the NCA College Nationals Wednesday at Gannon University.
Thiel's first place at Gannon was in the 45 Second Crowd Segment. The Tomcats earned Silver and Bronze bids to the NCA College Nationals and also received the Most Spirited Award and the Superior Ribbon Award for Evaluation of Camp Skills.
Burnett and Barlow both received collegiate credentialing at Gannon. The Tomcats won a national championship in 2023. The squad finished second in 2022 and third in 2024.
