GREENVILLE, Pa. – On Saturday, April 24 the Thiel College football team will host its ninth annual free youth football camp for all kids in grades four through six. The day will include instruction on basic fundamentals from players and a punt, pass and kick contest. All in attendance will receive a camp T-shirt and the winners of the contest will receive certificates. The camp will conclude with players discussing the dangers of drugs and alcohol, as well as the importance of doing well in school. Each child will receive lunch as well as a free pass for admittance to a Thiel home football game.
Immediately following the Youth Football Camp, the Thiel football team will hold its eighth annual Lineman Challenge. The offensive linemen will compete against the defensive linemen in order to determine which group can claim bragging rights for the year. The linemen will compete in events to test their strength, speed, and agility. All children and their families are invited to watch the challenge.
Camper registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the camp starting at 9 a.m. The camp should conclude at approximately 11:30 am. The Linemen Challenge will start at 12 p.m. The camp will be held at Alumni Stadium on the Thiel College campus. The College is located at 75 College Avenue (Greenville, Pa.) and Alumni stadium is located behind the gymnasium.
