In the fall of 1950 Thiel unwrapped the most powerful team in program history. This was a squad loaded with offense but at the same time boasting a rockbound defense, a combination that manufactured Thiel’s third unbeaten season. By the time the seven games had been completed, Thiel had run up 206 points while limiting the opposition to 13. All 13 points were scored in the first two games. The last five foes failed to cross the Tomcat goal line.
