Richard Mamajek

Richard Mamajek earned four letters as a member of the football team. He earned two of his letters in 1952 and 1953 playing center and guard on the offensive line and tackle on the defensive side of the ball. He was then drafted for the Korean War effort, missing both the 1954 and 1955 seasons. Returning to Thiel for the 1956 and 1957 seasons, he earned two additional letters playing center and offensive guard, tackle and end, as well as defensive tackle and linebacker.

Over his four-year career, he started all but two games due to injury. He was a co-captain during his senior season. He earned a spot on the 1957 Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Coaches All-District Team as an offensive guard. He was also named to the Delta Sigma Phi National All-Star First Team.
