Pete Bistransin earned four letters as a member of the football team and one while competing with the swimming team. He was a member of the 7-0 1950 team, which earned a bid to the Tangerine Bowl. He was enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 1981 as a member of the undefeated team. In 1995 he was inducted into the Butler County Hall of Fame.
As a senior, Bistransin was named an Associated Press All-Pennsylvania Honorable Mention and a Little All-American while playing on both the offensive and defensive lines. His experiences as a swimmer led him to try out for the 1948 Olympic Games while stationed in Japan during his time in the service.
