Julie Sierota was a four-year letter winner on the women’s basketball team. She earned All-PAC accolades each of her four years at Thiel, being named twice to the first team and twice to the second team. She was also named an All-American three times during her illustrious career. She scored 12 points in the Tomcats’ 66-51 victory over John Carroll University in the PAC championship game in 1988, giving Thiel their third conference championship in four years. The team was selected to participate in their first and only Division III National Tournament, traveling to the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Regional Women’s Game. The team averaged 7.3 rebound per game during that championship season.
At the end of her four years, Sierota ranked second in career points (1,388) and seventh in career rebounds (722). She reached the 1,000 career point mark during her junior season.
